Volute Wine (red) made the "Today's Bordeaux 2009" list!
Today’s Bordeaux are 100 wines priced $8-$35 selected by an independent jury of professionals in a blind tasting of 350 wines. Wines were selected in the top 100 that were an excellent representation of Bordeaux within the given price range.
Goal of the program: The program has been run by the Bordeaux Wine Council since 2005. According to the Council, the $8-$35 price range represents approximately 80% of all Bordeaux and offers the quality and value that appeal to American consumers. The program is designed to communicate the message that Bordeaux is affordable, easy to appreciate and appropriate for all occasions and budgets.
The 2009 Today's Bordeaux Jury:
- Clyde Beffa, Jr, Co-owner & Bordeaux Wine Buyer, K&L Wine Merchants;
- Elin McCoy, Wine & Spirits Columnist, Bloomberg News;
- John Ragan, Wine Director, Eleven Madison Park Restaurant, and 2008 James Beard award for Outstanding Wine Service.
